Acrylic is UV-resistant and costs less than glass. The Round Acrylic carries 840 lb at 32 feet per minute. The Round Glass uses low-iron glass, carries 950 lb, and moves at 40 feet per minute.
It is a safety rule in the ASME A17.1-2016 code. The gap between the landing door and the sill can’t be more than 3/4 inch. The gap between the landing door and the cab door can’t be more than 4 inches. Read more about home elevator door-gap safety rules.
It works best with a 4- to 12-inch pit. If you can’t dig a pit, Savaria offers a short ramp option instead.
You need 108 inches above the top floor for the standard 84-inch cab. An 80-inch cab needs 104 inches, and the short cab needs 96 inches.
Yes. You can choose one door, two doors on opposite sides, two doors at 90°, or three doors.
No. The acrylic models can mount the controller in the top header. If you prefer, the controller can also go in a nearby utility space.
No. Savaria rates the Vuelift for indoor use, with an operating range of 14°F to 104°F. It also recommends climate-controlled landings. In Florida, that means inside your air-conditioned home.
It needs a 230-volt, 30-amp circuit and two 120-volt, 15-amp circuits for the cab and pit lights. Savaria also asks for a phone jack near the controller and a GFCI outlet near the base.
